MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To manage the smooth running of the Network Engineering Department which is responsible for Installation of service and network on client’s site as well as to ensuring that our Core, Access as well as Transmission Networks are well maintained with maximum uptime.

PLANNING
Weekly planning of the department goals and tasks
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on progress of the tasks
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, IT, Telecommunications engineering or Electrical/Electronic engineering
EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years working experience in relevant fields.
Candidates from Telco/ISP will have an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Familiarity with common word processing, spreadsheet and email packages.
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, be a team player and be able to accomplish a given task with minimum supervision.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience in managing people and operations.
Project Management
Good knowledge and working experience of various Networks such as LAN, VPN, Fiber optical, microwave wireless technologies as well as extensive knowledge on configuration and troubleshooting of TCP/IP protocols.
Excellent understanding of MPLS and MPLS VPNs
Practical networking experience in setting up, testing, configuration and troubleshooting of networks/ Knowledge on Wireless Technologies, RF transmissions and Fiber Optical Networks
Working knowledge of network devices (routers/switch testing and configuration)
Proficiency in both Windows and Linux based operating Systems
Be able to communicate excellently with good command on both oral and written
English and Kiswahili; to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations and instructions and to elicit information from others with varying levels of understanding.
Must possess very good analytical, troubleshooting as well as technical faults reporting skills necessary in solving Layer 1-4 problems.
Problem solving skills to independently recognize define and identify resources available to solve problems.
Willing to walk extra miles and demonstrate flexibility in order to handle chores more efficiently.
Adhere to all the safety guidelines and SoPs such as wearing PPE as and when required by the task.
